Balance

Definition:
Productive responsibility held in tension with reverent restraint

Biblical Basis:
Gen 1–2 together

Implications for Life:
Subdue without Sabbath = exploitation; Sabbath without subduing = stagnation; both together = fruitful, sustainable stewardship

Dominion (rādâ)

Definition:
Exercise authority as a shepherd-king, protective stewardship

Biblical Basis:
Gen 1:28; Ps 72; Ezek 34

Implications for Life:
Lead creation toward flourishing, ensure justice, provide and protect

Sabbath Rest

Definition:
Cease from striving, honor God’s sovereignty, live in harmony with creation

Biblical Basis:
Gen 2:1–3; Exod 20:10; Heb 4:9

Implications for Life:
Rest, gratitude, sustainability, justice for people/animals/land

Subdue (kābash)

Definition:
Bring under control, order chaos into stability, cultivate creation

Biblical Basis:
Gen 1:28

Active work, cultivation, innovation, building civilization, scientific discovery
